BabyExpo Baby Show Exhibitor Information
Planning to exhibit at BabyExpo ? Why exhibit with us? What makes this baby show worth investing in?
“The Royal Sussex’s maternity unit is one of the busiest in Sussex, if not in the whole Region. People migrate to Brighton once they decide to have a family and as a result it has an incredible family orientated population. Having the Baby Expo here on our doorstep gives parents-to-be the opportunity to talk to experts about parenthood as well as shop for those essentials.”
Des Holden, Consultant & Honorary Clinical Senior Lecturer in Obstetrics Medical Director at The Royal Sussex County Hospital
Don't miss out on the opportunity to be part of the babyshow previous exhibitors have described as........
'As busy as the NEC'.....'The best show we have ever done'.....'It was better than any baby show that I have attended in London'.....'We sold more at Brighton Baby Expo than any advertising we have done'.....'It was one of the best ones…and I have done both the Earls Court and the Excel Baby Shows'.....'It was the best show we have done to date and your support has been amazing'
SMB Events have a proven track records in organising successful exhibitions and events. Most of the team are also parents with a strong insight as to what visitors are seeking from such shows and what works. We are very much looking forward to building on the strong foundations of last year's BabyExpo and taking the show from strength to strength.
BabyExpo events are Babyshows organised to a national standard and held in carefully selected geographical areas with higher than average numbers of ABC1 families and consistently high birthrates. Target markets are from pre-conception to primary age.
Why Baby shows? 90% of visitors attend exhibitions to purchase, research a purchase or find a solution to a problem. The national consumer spend within the nursery related industry is worth over £3.2 billion and the most expensive years for raising a child in a typical two parent household in the UK are from birth to five. Recent figures put parent’s spend in the first three years at up to £30,000.
The Yummy Mummy network is a very powerful one and mums spend much time in social intercourse be it face-to-face or via social networking sites and are always seeking personal recommendations, advice and inspiration. A good babyshow is the perfect platform to target such consumers.
In 2006, Sussex recorded birth rates of over 16,000 with the surrounding counties of Surrey, Hampshire and Kent recording a total of over 49,000 live births. A whopping 3,000+ births were recorded in Brighton and Hove alone. Summer 2009, local media in Sussex reported a massive increase in the numer of babies being born in the 2 major hospitals in Sussex (source: The Argus, August 16 2009) with birth rates nationally at their highest levels for a decade. (source: BBC radio August 27 2009)
National research published at the end of 2008 recorded that the 'baby/nursery' sector was one of the least vulnerable to the negative impact of the 'credit crunch'.
USP - We pride ourselves on offering niche, alternative and independent companies a platform for exposure alongside major brand names and are particularly supportive of launch and new-to-market initiatives. This has proved to be a highly successful strategy in attracting the target audience to our Babyshow. Visitors can access a very broad range of products and services and exhibitors enjoy exposure to thousands of potential customers keen to purchase.
Event Aim – To offer visitors a unique and enlightening shopping experience, alongside a fun and informative programme of activities at little or no cost to attend (unlike many other Babyshow events)
When - BabyExpo takes place early Summer, avoiding clashes with any other major baby shows, school holiday dates and the Brighton Festival and at a time when Brighton is at its most pleasant and appealing to visitors. This event is, at time of press, the last major baby show to be held in the South before the Clarion event in October.
Why Brighton – Brighton and Hove are often referred to as home to the ‘Yummy Mummy’. Brighton is very family-friendly and visitors are happy to travel in order to spend time there and often make a weekend of it. Baby-planners, parents-to-be, parents and extended family members from the Southern Counties make up the event target demographic. Sussex, Surrey, Hampshire and Kent are prime locations for families setting up home, especially with their close proximity to the countryside, the coast and within an easy commute of London.
Here at BabyExpo we fully understand the importance of baby show footfall but also of getting the ‘right’ people through the door. Our highly comprehensive marketing and PR campaign will target those ABC1 families and parents-to-be from throughout the Southern Counties and beyond. Visitors will be attracted by the range of exhibitors and sectors to be showcased, as well as the ease of access to the event, the unique NO ENTRY CHARGE POLICY and the entertainment programme which will run throughout the day ensuring children will wish to stay and therefore the ‘grown ups’ do too!
This baby show offers exhibitors, sponsors and supporters an extremely cost-effective mechanism to access a highly targeted, captive audience, an audience keen to absorb information, acquire product and services and invest in their pregnancy, birth experience, baby and/or young children. The opportunity to generate direct revenue before and after the baby show will also be made possible through the website weblinks, our pr and the distribution of the ‘Show Guide/Parenting Resource Guide’ featuring exhibitor information (10,000 of which will be distributed free pre- show, to major surrounding NCT branches, on the day and post-show to nurseries, local libraries, baby groups etc). The Guide will also be forwarded to all Brighton and Hove NCT members - one of the biggest branches in the UK.
| "Exhibitions are simply the best way to meet lots of new customers and seek useful feedback on our goods and services, especially for an internet based company. ‘Mummy Looks Fab’ therefore has no hesitation in booking our space at Baby Expo – especially considering the target audience. We are very keen to further expand our business throughout these particular areas and so look forward to another excellent event"
Sam Mackley, Owner-Manager, ‘Mummy Looks Fab’ |
In the lead up to the baby show we will be reviewing and assess-ing the visitor pre-registration data and targeting any areas which could need extra promotion. For full information on publicity please see the Media Partners, Press, PR and Marketing page. The list of exhibitors will be forwarded with each media release (for distribution nationally and regionally) and exhibitors will be encouraged to provide ‘what we are showing’ information, for the BabyExpo PR team to present directly to the media pre-show.
The exhibitor’s handbook, parking pass, tickets, publicity pack and personnel entry passes will all be included and forwarded well in advance of the event. The handbook will cover all the important elements of exhibiting within BabyExpo Baby Show at the Brighton Racecourse but for first time exhibiting companies the SMB Events team are always available to answer any queries or give advice on how best to market your product or organise your stand. Also see the 'Exhibition Virgins' page.
Finally, our prices are very competitive. For any exhibitor wishing to raise their profile even higher at the Brighton Baby Show, there are a range of sponsorship items available from car stickers to banners to breast feeding facilities, details of which can be found on the sponsorship page.
